We had a Huawei P20 Mobile Phone repair arrive this week. The customer had dropped it and damaged the screen. There was a crack in the screen, and because the Huawei P20 has an OLED screen, the damage was only slight when first dropped. The P20 screen was still usable at that time. Later that day, the screen was getting worse, with the screen fading from where the damage had occurred. Eventually, the screen was blank.
The customer called in for a quote. We explained that the Huawei P20 comes as a Service Pack, and a brand new service part would need to be ordered. We ordered the service pack on Monday, and the piece arrived the next day.
The Huawei P20 Service Pack includes a Brand New OLED display set in a Housing and includes a new battery.
When we repair a Huawei using a service pack, we remove the mobile phone back, take the Mainboard, daughterboard, and all the camera and charge flex components, and move them over to the new Housing.
This mobile phone also required a replacement back panel, and the existing one also had cracks in it.
Huawei OLED service pack screens are expensive, and this repair cost £230.00. We explained that there were considerations to take when spending this money on a Mobile Phone repair.
The problem with a not working screen is that it is difficult to back up the phone after the event if you have not backed up the mobile phone contents.
As our customer wanted to get the DATA from the device, they decided to get the screen replaced. At the same time and considering the repair cost and the condition of the newly repaired Mobile Phone with a new included battery, the Phone would be good for the next couple of years.
The Phone was repaired using a Huawei Service Pack screen and supplied with a years warranty.

The construction of the Huawei P20 is a housing, Battery, Mainboard, Daughterboard, Flex cables.
The Mainboard carries the Huawei Processor, memory, and front and rear cameras. As long as Mainboard is intact and working, everything else can be replaced, and the Phone will work as usual. The Mainboard usually takes up the top quarter for the Mobile Phone. Further down the Phone is the battery and takes up around half the space of the device. At the bottom of the Phone are the charging port and loudspeaker. There is a flex cable that runs from between the charging port and the Mainboard. This flex is used to carry charge from the charging port to the Mainboard. It also takes the signal for the Mic and Loudspeaker.
The heavy screen housing well protects the Mainboard in the Huawei P20, and we have seen some of these Mobile Phones come in terrible condition, and we have been able to get them fully up and running again.
